Pure drip is the story of the last pure water drop at a water purification facility. Working your way around a flooded abandoned purification factory to start it back up, meet friendly faces in the form of elements used in the water purification process such as Salt, Iron, Aluminum and more!
Shoot water at contaminated droplets and flowers to traverse a treacherous and challenging world. Become ice and slide through puzzles and smash your way through opposition or become steam and phase through and float above obstacles.
Pick your brain at some fun traversal puzzles and combat encounters to make sure that you can create at least one more pure drip of water.

Mechanics
The game is a Third Person Shooter mixed with platforming and puzzles, inspired by Mario Sunshine.
The player is able to move with WASD, Jump and Crouch and turn into a puddle.
Using PaperZD, we made an animation blueprint for 2D character to be integrated into a 3D world.

They can also shoot a water gun, which can turn contaminated water back into friendly units as well as shooting certain flowers to turn them into platforms.
The Damage System was created through actor components, which was attached to any interactable assets or characters throughout the game.

Growing Buds
These plants will begin growing after the player shoots them with some water. These plants will become bigger platform, for the player to move along and complete the level.
Buds
Buds will move certain plants after shooting them. These buds will displace vines, and create new areas for the player to explore.
Leafavator
The Leafavator is a leaf which will sprout a interactive bud when the player steps on it. This bud can be shot at by water, which will move the leaf and act as an elevator.
Jumping Pad
The last puzzle piece will be a jumping pad that the player will be able to go on, which will project the player at a higher area. These are not controllable and is only a means for the player to gain large distance.

Shooting the Flower Bud will begin the movement of the Leafavator.

Shooting the Flower Bud will move the vine to create new areas.
As you progress deeper into the game, new mechanics will be presented to the player.
Ice Form
After hitting a box collision attached to a static mesh of an Ice Cube, Drip will turn into a block of ice for a limited duration.
The player will turn back into the water form after a certain amount of time.
He will lose the ability to move backwards and his movement left and right will be limited. In exchange, the player will gain velocity when traversing lowered angles, reducing the ground friction to almost 0.

Steam Form
After touching the radiator's box collision, the player will go into steam mode.
All movement using WASD will be limited
Jumping and crouching will also be disabled.
The player will be forced to float upwards in the air and will be able to pass through certain objects/spaces.
This effect will only last a certain amount of time.
Player can also gain velocity when they are going through a current of air.
Animations
The animations was created in Unreal Engine with an Animation Blueprint.
All forms and movement goes through the locomotion system which contains all animations.


Level Design
I was also tasked with being the lead level designer for this project.
Using Mario Sunshine as a reference, we created most of the platforming and puzzles to compensate the simplicity of the game mechanics.
The water gun was the main component of designing the levels.

Synopsis
The player gets dropped off in a Lab area. This is the player's first interaction with the world of Pure Drip. The playable character, being a small drop of water, will spawn in a laboratory, where he will be forced to figure out how to get out of his situation. The player will begin on a desk, moving from platform to platform around a broken down laboratory in order to get to the next level.
Objective
The objective of the First Level will be to introduce them to the basic mechanics of the game.
This includes:
1. The Movement: Using WASD to move, Space to Jump and Shift to Puddle/Crouch
2. The Shooting: Player will be able to Left Mouse Click to shoot a droplet of water and press Right Mouse Click to Aim
3. Enemies: The player will encounter enemies throughout the levels, for the first level, we will be introducing the basic Bloop Enemies, which are contaminated droplets of water. These bloops will follow the player and deal damage to them when they are close to them. The second enemy we will be encountering will be the Contaminated Flowers, which are turret type enemies. They will shoot seeds at the player when they are in range of them.
4. Puzzle Platforms: We will also be introducing different types of platforms which can be interacted with the player's water gun. The player will be experiencing 4 different types of plants which will help them traverse this level.

Spawn Location of the Player. They will learn basic movements and shooting mechanics.

Second part of the tutorial level, player will learn about the combat mechanics and basic enemies

Last section of the tutorial level. The player will combine platforming and defeating enemies and end at the top pipe where they will enter the second level.

The Pipe Level
Synopsis
Objective
The second level is named the Pipe Level, as Drip will be traversing the pipeline of the water filtration system. This level will be sepearted into 3 parts. The first 2 parts can be done in whichever order the player decides to choose. When they are finished with the left and the right, the player will open the middle of the map which will lead the player to the following level.
In this level, the player will be battling more enemies, newer and harder puzzles, as well as a boss battle at the end of the level.
The objective of this level will be to open up the middle grate of the level by completing both sides of the pipeline. After entering the Middle pipeline, the player will be able to finish a platforming level, and defeat the final boss blocking the pipeline.


The Left Area: This area consists of a more platforming area of the game. Here the player will be able to choose between 3 different paths to get to the end of the area. Each path has its own difficulties.
Shooting the Valves will open one of the 2 gates to get to the final area of the level


The Right Pipe: This pipe is will also include enemies and platforming. The player will have to go on leafavators to arrive at the second level, where he will have to defeat enemies, and complete an obstacle to arrive at the valve at the end, after defeating the enemies, he will shoot the valve to open the second gate and have access to the final area.




In the middle pipe, the player will be introduced to some new obstacles, such as the swinging hammer and the flipping leaves. The player will first complete a few growing vines jumps and defeat some flower turrets and bloop enemies. After completing the new obstacles, the player will reach a checkpoint and will then be introduced to the boss of the level, a giant flower who is blocking the path. After defeating the boss, the path on the right will open up, to give you access to the third level.
The Ventilation Level
Synopsis
The third level is being played in a ventilation fan, where the player will be introduced to 2 new main mechanics of the game. The player will be able to change forms after touching objects, in this case, a block of ice and a radiator. After touching the ice, the player will become a block of ice and will be sliding on the floor, where he will gain speed and also will be able to go smoothly through some obstacles.
The other new mechanic will be the steam mode, where the player will be floating upwards. This can be combo'd with a fan which will propulse the player into certain directions. By doing so, the players will have access to new areas of the games and also gain new techniques.
Objectives
Tutorial for the 2 new mechanics: Steam Mode and Ice Mode.
Player will have to finish the puzzles to continue on into the next level.
